I have no complaints about the quality of care once you get to see a doctor but the problem is getting to see one. They have been looking into alternatives to the ridiculous "you can book two weeks ahead" system which has made booking an appointment almost impossible. Today (November 11th), I logged onto the App at 7.40am to see one appointment for today, which was taken from under my nose as I tried to book it. I then called at 1 second past 8am to be told I was number 12 in the queue. I can totally see why people end up clogging A&E when it's so difficult to see a GP.
For the life of me I can't understand why they can't do FaceTime appointments like other surgeries; these could be done out of standard hours and would reduce the burden on the surgery itself. They've had this feedback since the "new' system was put into place last year and yet, here we are, with massive patient frustration and a ridiculous competition to see a doctor
I know things are challenging with NHS underfunding but the surgery isn't helping itself or its patients
The Wall House Surgery has had a lot of problems with their appointment system, and things are still not brilliant in that department. The receptionist staff have obviously suffered a lot of abuse as a result of this, and it appears to have made them less than friendly as a result. However, once you are in the system at this surgery, the level of care from the doctors and practice nurses is superb. The surgery is clean and comfortable and the waiting areas are light, airy and pleasant. The medical staff have always treated me with compassion and respect and I have absolute trust in all of them. The nurses are fantastic and extremely skilled at taking blood samples and giving injections. I have been referred to the East Surrey Hospital whenever further treatment has been necessary and everything is extremely efficient.
I have never been to the surgery but my mother does . She has recently been diagnosed with Neuralgia and went to the Dr to see about this. She was discussing the medication in the Drs office when he looked at his watch and said along the lines of “ your ten minutes are up and I’ve got other patients waiting “ when she told me I thought that was awful .
pretty poor service I would say . It’s not like she goes every week and this is a pretty upsetting condition to have and very painful .
It’s a very busy surgery but they will always try and accommodate. My family and I needed vaccinations for an overseas trip in 4 weeks time and no appointments were available. They shuffled a few things around and called me back later the same day and were able to squeeze us in. Extremely friendly and efficient at the appointment itself also. A really great experience today, thanks.
Most Dr's are very helpful
The booking system here is terrible, there are not enough appointments and when they are released you have to wait at least 2 weeks to see a Dr. Although it's handy to book online the lack of appointments is frustrating and if you call up you are referred back to online unless it is an emergency (for which there is a triage list).
There needs to be more information to patients on when times when appointments are released. I was also advised there would be appointments released the day before for the next day but there never seem to be any.
Its a shame as this surgery was great before
