Review of Physiotherapy
14th January 2022

Overall care was very good.

Suggested improvements
I found the one to one sessions with the Physio far more helpful for my recovery. The 'Gym' sessions helped and had benefit of more machines to improve strength. Ideal care would be a mixture of both one to one and Gym sessions.

Review of Spinal
12th January 2022

My interview was delayed by 30 mins. but Mr. Hakeem gave a meaningful explanation and apology. He then proceeded to conduct an admirable consultation in all respects: interpersonal skills, description and explanation of my condition and the options available and the arrangement of future treatment. My input was also treated with respect

Suggested improvements
just the 30 minute delay but I found this acceptable

Review of Admissions and day case unit
21st October 2021

I had a biopsy on 13.10.21 The staff were very kind and empathetic and made me feel very well cared for. Despite of language barrier they made sure that I am comfortable at all times and well informed. I would like to especially thank nurse Tina who took a special care of me. The medical team was also brilliant. Big thank you to all of them.

Suggested improvements
The only downside was lack of the interpreter at agreed hour but the nurses made sure that we can communicate using Google translator

Review of Ward 4
27th September 2021

Overall you where very good. Could not wish for a better consultant than Mr Haleemhe was kind mannered, patient listener, explain everything so I could understand and took my wishes into consideration. A big Thank you. The Anaesthetist and his team were wonderful, explained what was going on and what extra drugs he was giving me what was being prescribed and lucky for me I can not remember anything else until I was in recovery, so he must of done a good job. Well done. Rachel in recovery was kind an explained everything and was reassuring.Thank you. Staff on Ward 4 were lovely. Another Thank you.

Suggested improvements
Just one small observation don't keep moving the goal post. My consultant was always completely honest with me, but I had my hopes dashed once I achieved what the other medical staff had set and told me what was required to enable me to go home to be told once I had reach them I still had to stay in another night. Nothing worse than spending an extra night on your uncomfortable bed and another night of very little sleep. Mr Haleem was correct once I went on I would thrive. How true feeling less pain, my strength is improving and mentally I am in a very good place since coming home.

Review of Orthotics
8th September 2021

My 9 year old son had an appointment recently with the orthotics department for collection of a spinal brace. My son is completely wheelchair dependent and requires a hoist to be lifted. The treatment room is very small and doesn’t have very much space. As a result, We couldn’t hoist him safely and certainly with any dignity. I’m sure that your moving and handling team would be very dissatisfied with the procedures that the orthotist undertook. My son had to then try and have the the spinal brace fitted once we did mange to get him on the examination bed to ensure that it fitted properly. Because the examination bed is so small, and there was limited space in the room, when the orthotist tried to turn my son, he nearly fell off the examination bed but luckily I was close by to catch him.

Suggested improvements
Provide larger, wheelchair accessible rooms. Ensure that staff are up to date with manual handling rules and procedures Provide larger medical beds for examinations and procedures Treat patients with dignity and respect
