I had a total right knee replacement on 7th June and was discharged the following afternoon.
I have nothing but praise for the staff who looked after me. They were caring, respectful and friendly.
Went in on Monday 23rd for 12.30pm appointment for Lumbar spinal stenosis decompression surgery. After nursing staff settled me in to my room on Abergavenny ward I had meeting with anaesthetist and surgeon both explaining what was going to happen. I was taken to operating theatre at about 1.45pm. I woke up 3 hours later and was amazed to find I had no pain !! I was being constantly monitered by nursing staff and I was sitting up eating my pasta dinner a while later.
Bryony looked after me all through the night and was constantly checking on me. I walked out of hospital after having a full English breakfast at 11 am next morning with the aid of a borrowed Zimmer frame to my transport home.
Everyone seemed happy to be working there, hospital had a nice calm atmosphere. Room was great. Car Parking free and was easy to park. Mobile phone signal wasn`t great but it wasn`t a big deal for me. Thank you to everyone who looked after me.
The staff at the Nuffield Hospital were all excellent - from the reception team, the ward, the physios, catering staff. Everyone was friendly, helpful and caring. They treated everyone individually. I so valued their help. My hospital room was very nice, - it was quiet and I had nice views of the trees. I needed to keep the windows open as I got hot in the room.
Very nice hospital
The care was outstanding from my day of admission to my leaving day, All nurses & welfare staff were exemplary, a very comfortable stay.
Amazing hospital with incredibly kind nurses who gave wonderful care following two lots of surgery.
Every step of the way l felt cared for and confident. The staff were kind, nothing to much trouble to make you comfortable.
I had surgery with Mr Lawes back in May 2023, didnt go to plan and I had issues from the surgery. Made me wait 6 months before getting me back in for a second operation which still did not resolve the issues. I then had to go elsewhere to have a third operation to resolve issues. Had 12 months off work due to the first operation and poor aftercare. When approached them about it I was basically told its tough luck. Terrible experiance would not return.
Shocking poor aftercare. Left for hours without access to the toilet after surgery. Left in terrible pain with overdue meds. No ice therapy following knee replacement. Nurse threw away blood in urine sample. The staff blamed short staffing and not enough facilities. I left in pieces and followed up with a urine infection, pneumonia and ptsd.
Had a hip replacement surgery and related pre and post operation care. A fantastic facility staffed with great, caring health professionals. Can't recommend it highly enough.
