Clean- helpful staff
I was on ward 16 following a fall at home.
I broke three ribs and punctured my lung.
Each and every staff member I came into contact with was very professional, obviously highly qualified and also, kind and considerate.
The NHS seems to get an enormous amount of “bad press” Nobody ever highlights the utterly fantastic care received by many, including me.
I wholly applaud everyone who works at York Hospital, especially those on ward 16.
all the staff that dealt with me were very helpful and courteous throughout my stay from the very helpful people in the kitchen to the night/ day nurses nothing was too much for them you just asked and if they could they got it for you
Service was great.
Hospital is very efficient. Staff great.
What was good about my cancer care was the efficiency and that no appointment was cancelled. Everything including my procedure undertook by Mr Chitsabesan was all done on the dates given. Regarding my chemotherapy treatment once every 3 weeks was all on time but it was distressing having the cannula done by junior nurses when I was particularly difficult to get into. It would have been helpful if the more senior nurses always did the cannulas on people that were hard to get into as they were able to do it first time. Also the bands for any allergies mostly weren't available so it was up to you to let the nurses know verbally what allergies you had from certain medications. Regarding the hospital, overall the care was good but the food was terrible. It would be good if the catering could be looked at and changed.
Very satisfactory.
