Salma was patient and understanding throughout the titration process
I am happy with the care and prompt responses I have received throughout this experience. I feel that although the medication helps, more personal interaction would be invaluable.
Only downside to doing it online is there's a lot of back and forth, sometimes a phone call would have been easier.
Mrs Ali is so incredibly thorough. I know it’s her job to get to the bottom of things and find the right medication but I’ve never had someone in healthcare work so hard to seek a solution that actually benefited me. I don’t know why but if a medication has a slight possibility of having a very random side effect, I tend to be the oddball who has those reactions; in the past that has meant having very disparaging doctors who don’t believe my side effects and force me to take medication that has had dangerous consequences. So having Salma Ali’s patience and understanding throughout titration has meant more than I can put into words.
Salma was so lovely and kind and patient throughout our nearly year long titration period together. She gave me such good advice and tips on taking my medication whilst I observe Ramadan, which was so kind and thoughtful of her. Salma strives to give as much information as possible regarding the medication in a way that is not overwhelming at all. Honestly would recommend every pharmacist is more like Salma, she centres care in every interaction we had, which is so lovely for me. Thank you so much Salma !!!

Profile
Hello I’m Salma! I’m a pharmacist and I have been on the register with the General Pharmaceutical Council for 15 years now. I studied at the School of Pharmacy, University of London and graduated in 2005. I registered with the Royal Pharmaceutical Society in 2006 and I have gone on to gain my Independent Prescribing qualification from Robert Gordon University in 2016 as well as a Postgraduate Diploma in Clinical Pharmacy Practice in 2017. I started my career as a pharmacist traveling all over the South East of England as a locum working in a range of different settings, from Methadone clinics to Nursing homes, and more community pharmacies that I can count! I have worked in a London mental health hospital for over five years now where I manage a busy pharmacy. I have gained vast experience with patients in an inpatient and outpatient mental health setting. I have a keen interest in the psychopharmacology of mental health conditions, especially ADHD and I enjoy being a small part of a patient’s journey when undergoing treatment for the first time. When I’m not surrounded by drugs I enjoy baking and clay pigeon shooting.
