the care I was given was outstanding and very caring the whole team but especially this person went above and beyond duty to make me feel safe and cared for.

As a part of my radiotherapy treatment at UCLH, we are assigned 2 nurses to check on our progress during the treatment and to provide support and answers to questions if required. The first 15 treatments were okay however I then felt there was a problem and Hannah had me seen by a doctor who identified the problem and the treatment to deal with it. By the second week I was still feeling unwell and frustrated by this situation and it was alien to me; it was at this point Mrs Sharman-Else came to reassure me, support me and lifted my spirits enough to keep me going. During the rest of my treatment Mrs Sharman-Else continued to monitor my progress, encourage me and explain what was happening to my body which I found to be very comforting. Sometimes too much information can be scary however having the right amount to understand what is happening is very helpful, and Mrs Sharman-Else found that balance perfectly for me for which I am very grateful.

Mich is an excellent nurse.......sympathetic, understanding, vastly experienced, makes really useful suggestions and is able to offer good advice and treatments. It’s great she can prescribe and she is knowledgeable about how to get the best use out of medicines/aids to suit your needs. She also has a bright and positive attitude which can really help when serious illness grinds you down. I wish every nurse was like her.

I have only met this healthcare professional on one occasion and found her to be a very helpful and well mannered person. During my treatment review she answered all of my questions very clearly and in great detail when required. First class.

During my post-operative 6 week course of radiotherapy (left maxilla face area) Mitch was supportive understanding and caring. An excellent healthcare professional. Kept me well supplied with dressings saline solution and empathy. A reflection of the high standards set by UCHL. Thank you Mitch, Sabrina and Team. Every best, Gerry Gerald A.
